The Opportunity

At B&D, we lead the planning, development, and management of the places that shape and strengthen communities, where people live, learn, work, and play. B&D recently joined forces with Project Management Advisors, bringing together two nationally recognized leaders in program management and real estate advisory services. Together, the combined firm offers expanded capabilities across industries and throughout the full project lifecycle, from early-stage strategy and planning through execution and beyond.

As Vice President, Public K-12 Practice Leader, you will serve as a key market leader responsible for building and growing B&D's Public K-12 presence throughout Florida. This is a highly visible leadership role focused on business development, market leadership, client engagement, thought leadership, and oversight of project delivery. Working closely with regional leadership, practice leaders, and project teams, you will identify opportunities, build executive-level relationships, strengthen our market position, and help shape the future of our Public K-12 practice throughout Florida.

This role requires candidates to reside in Florida. While the position is remote-based, regular travel throughout the state is expected. Candidates located near major metropolitan areas are preferred

How You'll Contribute

• Lead the strategic growth of B&D's Public K-12 practice across Florida.
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with school district leaders, including superintendents, CFOs, facilities leaders, and board members.
• Develop and execute market growth strategies that increase B&D's visibility, influence, and market share throughout the state.
• Identify emerging trends, funding opportunities, enrollment shifts, capital planning needs, and other factors shaping Florida's K-12 market.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to current and prospective clients on facility planning, capital programs, development strategy, and implementation.
• Lead business development activities, including client engagement, opportunity identification, pursuit strategy, conference participation, presentations, and industry involvement.
• Partner with regional leadership to develop winning pursuit strategies, staffing plans, and client engagement approaches.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful delivery, strong client experiences, and long-term client retention.
• Represent B&D through thought leadership initiatives, conference presentations, publications, and industry engagement.
• Help identify hiring, resource, and capability-building opportunities that strengthen B&D's Public K-12 presence throughout Florida.
• Mentor and develop staff while helping build long-term Public K-12 expertise and capacity within the region.
• Support strategic initiatives that position B&D as a leader within Florida's educational facilities and capital planning marketplace.

How You'll Lead

• Serve as the market-facing leader responsible for growing B&D's Public K-12 presence throughout Florida.
• Develop and execute strategies to increase market visibility, client engagement, and project opportunities.
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with school district leaders, facilities executives, and key industry stakeholders.
• Partner with regional leadership to strengthen B&D's capabilities and reputation within the Florida Public K-12 market.
• Balance business development, client leadership, and project delivery responsibilities.
• Mentor and develop staff while helping build long-term Public K-12 expertise and capacity within the region.
• Represent B&D through industry organizations, conferences, speaking engagements, and thought leadership activities.
• Lead with an entrepreneurial mindset, identifying opportunities to expand relationships, services, and market presence.
• Foster collaboration across offices, disciplines, and service lines to deliver client value and drive market growth.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, education, planning, engineering, business, real estate, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience in planning, advisory services, owner's representation, program management, architecture, engineering, construction, or related industries.
• Significant experience serving Public K-12 clients within Florida.
• Established relationships and credibility among Florida school district leaders and decision-makers.
• Demonstrated success in developing business, growing client portfolios, and winning new work.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex client engagements.
• Strong understanding of Florida K-12 funding mechanisms, capital planning processes, bond programs, procurement methods, and facilities planning.
• Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, and relationship-management skills.
• Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with day-to-day execution.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Florida
• Valid driver's license required.

This role's target base annual salary range is currently $225,000-$265,0000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education, experience, certifications, candidate abilities, and pay relative to other team members.
